In 2010, he competed in the singing competition show Kochav Nolad, which is the Israeli version of the American show American Idol. Amedi won the hearts of audiences with his original song Pain of Warriors inspired by his time in the military. However, he ended up as the runner-up of the show.
He turned actor in 2017 when he began playing the role of an undercover man named Sagi Tzur in the popular television drama, Fauda.
Amedi is trained in martial arts forms such as Taekwondo and Thai boxing. Furthermore, he competed in the national taekwondo championship in the early 2000s and won second place.
His breakout single Pain of Warriors was named ‘Song of the Year’ in the annual 2011 chorus parades. Additionally, the patriotic song was chosen as the favorite song of Israeli soldiers during a competition held in 2018 to celebrate Israel’s 70th anniversary.
Following the shocking Hamas attack on Israeli civilians on October 7, 2023, which led to the outbreak of the 2023 Israel–Hamas war, Amedi joined the IDF as a reservist to fight against the terrorist group. He became part of the first Israeli forces that reached Gaza’s coastline and played a crucial role in successfully destroying Hamas tunnels found in Shuja’iyya. However, Amedi was gravely injured during the bombing operation of a Hamas tunnel on January 8, 2024. He suffered from extensive burns on his body, broken bones, broken fingers, and had shrapnel in his spine and neck. Thankfully, he made a quick recovery by the end of the month.
